Additional challenges were the size of the windows as well as arches in some areas. Chain operated sunscreen roller shades with a lift assist system were used in the main areas as they allow versatility in controlling heat and glare while maintaining the view. In the bedrooms, a combination of blackout roller shades and two inch distressed wood blinds were the solution. In the boathouse, motorized roller shades with side channels and flyscreen fabric were installed so the doors can be kept open to let the air in and the bugs out. The result was a seamless flow throughout the cottage with window covering solutions for each room.
