Ambrose Price grew up in the small fishing
community of Fortune, on the south coast of Newfoundland. Son of Ambrose and
Greta Price, he is the youngest of six children. From a young age his mother
Greta, always involved Ambrose with the interior design and renovations of their
family home. It was then that he realized he had a flair for design but had no
idea how much it would influence his career in the years to come. At the age of
18 Ambrose packed his bags and moved to St. John’s, Newfoundland where he
studied mathematics at Memorial University.
It wasn’t long before Ambrose
would be called home to Fortune. In 2004, his mother was diagnosed with cancer
and Ambrose dedicated the next year of his life to her care – she passed away
shortly thereafter. Realizing firsthand how life can be cut short, Ambrose
decided to follow his dream, and pursue a career in interior design and event
planning.
Ambrose’s television career began in 2006 when he applied to be
a contestant on HGTV’s Designer Superstar Challenge and was accepted. Although he placed
fifth in the competition, that didn’t stop him. It wasn’t long after his
appearance that he was offered his own television show appropriately titled
The Decorating Adventures of Ambrose Price. The show has been a
rewarding experience for Ambrose, and he truly believes that through the power
of positive thinking, remaining true to yourself and following your dreams can
certainly lead to endless possibilities.
